طيور النوء
طيور النو هي طيور صغيرة تقضي معظم حياتها في البحر، ثم تعود إلى الشاطئ لتتكاثر. تتغذى على العوالق والأسماك الصغيرة التي تلتقطها من السطح، وعادةً ما تحوم وتسابقها فوق سطح الماء. ترفرف الطيور فوق الماء وأحياناً يكون طيرانها شبيهاً بطيران الخفافيش. ثمة 22 نوعاً من النو في جميع أنحاء العالم، تم تسجيل نوع منها في تايلند.[2]

الطيور الاستوائية بيضاء نحيلة تأتي من المحيطات الاستوائية، ذات ريش ذيل مركزي طويل بشكلٍ استثنائي. رؤوسها وأجنحتها طويلة ذات علامات سوداء. يوجد منها ثلاثة أنواع في العالم، اثنان منها تعيش في تايلند.[4]

البجع
البجعة من الطيور المائية الكبيرة تملك جراباً مميراً تحت المنقار. كما هو الحال مع أنواع البجعيات الأخرى، فإن أقدام البجعة ذات أربعة أصابع. ثمة ثمانية أنواع في جميع أنحاء العالم منها نوع واحد في تايلند.[4]

الغاقات
الغاقات هي عائلة من الطيور البحرية التي تتغذى على الأسماك المتوسطة والكبيرة الحجم، وتشميل طيور الغاق والشاغ. يختلف لون ريشها، لكن ريش غالبية الأنواع داكن بشكلٍ رئيسي، وبعضها أبيض وأسود، وبعضها ذو ألوان أكثر. هناك 38 عضواً في هذه العائلة حول العالم، ثلاثة منها تتواجد في تايلند.[4]

يشار للقاذفات في كثير من الأحيان ب"طيور الثعبان" بسبب رقابها الطويلة الرقيقة، التي تعطيها مظهراً يشبه الثعابيت التي تتلوى فوق الجسد المغمور. للذكور ريش أسود وبين داكن وعرف منتصب، ومنقارها أكبر من منقار الإناث. للإناث ريش شاحب خاصة عند الرقبة وأسفل الجسم. أقدام القاذفات وترية بالكامل وأقدامها قصيرة. ريشها ينفّذ بعض الشيء، لذا تراها بعد الغطس تفرد أجنحتها لتجف. ثمة أربعة انواع منها في جميع أنحاء العالم، سجّل واحد منها في تايلند.[4]

Frigatebirds

فرقاطاتs are large sea-birds usually found over tropical oceans. They are large, black and white or completely black, with long wings and deeply forked tails. The males have inflatable coloured throat pouches. They do not swim or walk, and cannot take off from a flat surface. Having the largest wingspan to body weight ratio of any bird, they are essentially aerial, able to stay aloft for more than a week. There are five species worldwide of which three occur in Thailand.[4]

Bitterns, herons and egrets

The family Ardeidae contains the الواقs, بلشونياتs and egrets. Herons and egrets are medium to large wading birds with long necks and legs. Bitterns tend to be shorter necked and more wary. Unlike other long-necked birds such as storks, ibises and spoonbills, members of this family fly with their necks retracted. There are 61 species worldwide of which 20 occur in Thailand.[7]

Storks are large, long-legged, long-necked, wading birds with long, stout bills. Storks are virtually mute, but bill-clattering is an important mode of stork communication at the nest. Their nests can be large and may be reused for many years. Many species are migratory. There are 19 species worldwide of which ten occur in Thailand.[7]

Threskiornithidae is a family of large terrestrial and wading birds which comprises the أبو منجلes and أبو ملعقةs. Its members have long, broad wings with 11 primary and about 20 secondary ريش الطيرانs. They are strong fliers and, despite their size and weight, very capable soarers. There are 36 species worldwide of which six occur in Thailand.[7]

The family Anatidae includes the بطs and most duck-like waterfowl, such as إوزة and إوز عراقيs. These are birds that are modified for an aquatic existence with webbed feet, flattened bills and feathers that are excellent at shedding water due to an oily coating. Glareolidae is a family of wading birds comprising the أبو اليسرs, which have short legs, long pointed wings and long forked tails, and the coursers, which have long legs, short wings and long pointed bills which curve downwards. There are 17 species worldwide of which two occur in Thailand.[30]

The family Charadriidae includes the زقزاقاواتs, زقزاق أوراسيs, and أبو طيطs. They are small to medium-sized birds with compact bodies, short, thick necks and long, usually pointed, wings. They are found in open country worldwide, mostly in habitats near water, although there are some exceptions. There are 66 species worldwide of which 14 occur in Thailand.[30] In addition to the listed species, a distinctive Charadrius plover known as ‘White-faced’ Plover has been seen in Thailand in recent years. It is at present unclear whether it is a new species or a subspecies of Kentish Plover.[1]

Honeyguides

The males of many species are brightly coloured, usually in red or yellow and black, some species show variation in colour only in the breeding season. There are 116 species worldwide of which three occur in Thailand.[7]

The شمعية المنقارes are small passerine birds of the Old World tropics and أسترالاسيا. They are gregarious and often colonial seed-eaters with short thick but pointed bills. They are all similar in structure and habits, but have a wide variation in plumage colours and pattern. There are 141 species worldwide of which eight occur in Thailand.[73]

The emberizids are a large family of seed-eating passerine birds with a distinctively shaped bill. In the Old World, most species are named as "buntings". Many emberizid species have distinctive head patterns. There are 275 species worldwide, of which eight occur in Thailand.[74]

شرشورياتes are small to moderately large seed-eating passerine birds with a strong beak, usually conical and in some species very large. All have 12 tail feathers and nine primary ريش الطيران. Finches have a bouncing flight, alternating bouts of flapping with gliding on closed wings, and most sing well. There are 137 species worldwide, of which ten occur in Thailand.[73]
