- There are two places called Karapchiv. Both are in تشيرنيفتسي أوبلاست, which is within the former region of Bukovina: namely, Karapchiv, Hlyboka Raion and Karapchiv, Vyzhnytsia Raion. They are of similar size. There was fighting in the area during World War II, and records of where Schwartz came from may not have survived.
