وُلدت إفون في كيب تاون بجنوب أفريقيا ، وهي ابنة أدولفوس والتر هايلبلوت ، وكلارا إيثيل . تلقت تعليمها في دير القديسة ماري ، شارع هوب Hope -كيب تاون.
