آدم دي روس (بالفرنسية: Adam de Ross) كاتب من أواخر القرن الثاني عشر. ندين له بترجمة أنجلو نورمانية لفيزيو باولي (نسخة مختصرة عن نهاية العالم لبولس )[2]. تعود إلى الربع الأخير من القرن الثاني عشر.[3] كان آدم روس راهبًا أيرلنديًّا عاش في عام 1279.[4]

كان عضوًا في دير سسترسيان في دنبريودي، مقاطعة ويكسفورد. وهو مؤلف ترجمة باللغة الفرنسية لرؤية القديس بولس. كان أخلاقيًا شديدًا، شجع على استخدام اللغة الفرنسية في أيرلندا لأغراض دينية. كتب آدم ترجماته لصالح إخوته في الدين، وتحديداً، حول كيفية تجنب الذهاب إلى الجحيم.[5]

السيرة

الهوية الدقيقة لآدم دي روس غير معروفة ومحل نقاش.[6] توجد العديد من الفرضيات المتعلقة بها. وفقا لجي سي راسل، آدم دي روس هو راهب أيرلندي من دير دانبرودي ، المعروف في عام 1279.[7] لكن هذا لا يتوافق مع تاريخ قصيدته، التي يعود تاريخها إلى الربع الأخير من القرن الثاني عشر.[8] من المقبول بشكل عام بين المؤرخين أنه كان من روس أون واي في هيريفوردشاير.

العمل الفني

يُنسب إليه عمل واحد فقط: وهو ترجمة لفظية لرؤية بولس لنهاية العالم، بعنوان نزول القديس بولس إلى الجحيم، وهي مؤرخة في الربع الأخير من القرن الثاني عشر. هذه الترجمة محفوظة في ستة مخطوطات.[9]
